Mala with a single Rudraksha seed. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word Rudra-Aksham, meaning “the eyes of Rudra”, one of Shiva's names. The number of grooves (faces) on the Rudraksha bead is of a great importance. This one has 4 faces, like the 4 Vedas.
Shiva is always depicted with a Rudraksha mala around his neck. The Sadhus are wearing mala to facilitate the meditation and the connection with God Shiva. The Rudraksha bead is strung up on a double cotton red thread.
